Additional Services for New Build Projects
Our team combines advanced technology with in-depth industry experience to provide a complete solution for all your new build energy needs. To support your new build and ensure compliance with all regulations, we also provide:
Our SAP calculations provide a detailed analysis of your building’s energy efficiency, including heating, lighting, and ventilation systems. These calculations are a critical part of compliance for new builds, ensuring your property meets Building Regulations and energy performance standards.
We perform precise U-value calculations to measure the thermal performance of walls, roofs, floors, windows, and doors. This service helps you optimise insulation, reduce heat loss, and achieve energy efficiency targets for your project.
Building Control now requires new homes to have an Air Tightness Test. An Air Tightness Test ensures that the building has no unnecessary draughts. This means that heat is retained in the building.
Our service is competitive and flexible covering the whole of Northern Ireland. We will provide you with all the necessary advice and documentation to get Building Control Approval.
Prices start at £180 per dwelling.
Our extension trade-off calculations help balance the energy performance of new extensions with existing structures. This service ensures your property remains compliant while offering cost-effective solutions for your project.
FAQ
ember energy ni
frequently asked questions
As part of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD), October 2008 signals the beginning of the legal requirement to have in your possession an Energy Performance Certificate for on construction dwellings. Ember Energy NI is a provider of the inspection and certification services for the energy performance rating of On Construction buildings.
The certificate will provide the energy rating of the building from A – G, where A is the most efficient. The energy rating is based on the characteristics of the building itself and its services (such as heating and lighting). The certificate is accompanied by a report which includes cost-effective recommendations to improve the energy ratings. For each improvement indicative paybacks are listed.
An On Construction EPC is valid for 10 years. The addition of an extension or a change in the main heating system would trigger the need for a new EPC.
Developers are responsible for ensuring that an Energy Performance Certificate is made available.
Which type of properties are affected?
